The video won second prize in the Film Barnet in 90 seconds competition.

Conductor - Owen Leech

We have been fortunate to have Owen Leech as conductor and musical director of the Tudor Orchestra since December 2005. Owen's enthusiasm and constructive encouragement ensures we progress, both as individual players and as an ensemble, each term.

Leader - Haruko Motohashi

Haruko Motohashi now leads the orchestra, bringing with her experience of performing as a soloist at an international level. Haruko's strong playing and helpful advice encourages us all to play to the best of our abilities.

Principal Cello - Joanne Keithley

In May 2011, the orchestra was delighted to welcome Jo Keithley as Pincipal Cello. After a student career glittering with distinctions, scholarships, first class honours, and multiple prizes, Jo now has an active freelance career, working with top-tier orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic and the Hallé, and as a member of the Southbank Sinfonia 2010 season, as well as performances in radio broadcasts on both BBC and Classic FM.

Players

Being part of a group of people working together to bring music to life from notes on a page is one of the things I missed most after leaving school, so I was really excited to find out that there was an orchestra playing just up the road from me. It has turned out to be a place to meet entertaining and interesting people, and to feel part of a collective whose aim is to make beautiful music and enjoy it. Milla - viola

I've been really surprised by how much I enjoy being part of an orchestra again, having not played at all since leaving school 15 years ago; I can't believe I left it so long! It is lovely to be part of a group of people making and enjoying music, and rehearsals always leave me feeling very motivated to practise. Jocasta - violin

I joined one year ago, having taken up the violin as an adult. Playing with, and encouraged by, more experienced players has really helped improve my playing and sight reading. You can enjoy and make a contribution to the ensemble whatever level you play at. Stephen - violin

Forthcoming Concerts
24th March 2012
7:30 pm at Trinity Church, Nether Street, N12

Vaughan Williams
Haydn
Gustav Holst
Imogen Holst
Butterworth.

Tickets are available on the door: £8 and £6 concessions.

Rehearsals start for this concert on 9th January

Vacancies

We presently have vacancies for an oboist, a bassoonist, a trumpeter, and for a tuba player.
