We are open to amateur and professional musicians of all levels of ability (no auditions required!) and play under the guidance of a professional <A href="http://www.owenleech.com">conductor</A>, <A href="http://www.harukomotohashi.com">leader</A> and principal cello. The orchestra provides a friendly and supportive environment for musicians to develop their skills, and prides itself on its adventurous programming. </p> <h1>What do we play?</h1> <P>We generally play more adventurous repertoire than a typical community orchestra (NOT Tudor music!) and each concert includes a concerto with a soloist of a professional standard. Recent programmes have featured Sibelius's 3rd Symphony, Dvo<FONT size=2>&#345;</FONT>ák's 5th and 8th, and Borodin's 2nd - as well as concertos by Brahms, Beethoven, Glazunov, and Prokofiev.</P> <H1>Why is it called Tudor?</H1> <P>The name relates to the old Tudor (883) telephone exchange in Muswell Hill where the orchestra was originally based and not to the type of music performed!</P> </DIV> <DIV id=news> <DIV class=newsItem> <h1>Forthcoming Concerts</h1> <strong>24th March 2012</strong> <p>7:30 pm Trinity Church, Nether Street N12</br><p>An English theme, including: <p> Vaughan Williams: Overture  The Wasps </br>Haydn: Symphony no. 101  The Clock (London, March 1794) </br>Gustav Holst:  Lyric Movement for viola and small Orchestra.
